On this page
Yes, if your organizer sends you a guest link. Organizers turn on guest links for people outside their organization, like clients or contractors. With a guest link, you only enter your name. You don’t create an account or join the organization.
If your organizer sent a regular link instead, you’ll be asked to sign up or log in. See How do I choose my meal?
Pick your meal as a guest
1. Open the guest link your organizer sent. It shows the restaurant, the date, time, and address, and the menu.
2. Tap the meal you want. Since you don’t have an account, we ask for your name, so your organizer knows which meal is yours. Type your full name and tap Continue.
3. Your meal is saved. If you see Special Request, tap it to add a food allergy or a request for the restaurant, up to 50 characters. Then tap Confirm & Close.
4. Your name shows on the group order with Guest Account under it, and your organizer sees your meal with everyone else’s.
How guest picks work
- To change your pick, open the same link in the same browser and choose a different meal before the ordering deadline. We won’t ask for your name again.
- Your pick is tied to the browser you used. On another device or browser, or after you clear your cookies, the page won’t know it’s you. Each name can be used only once per group order, so entering your name again shows an error. Ask your organizer to change or remove your pick instead.
- Guests are never charged for overages. If the group order has a meal budget and you pick a meal that costs more, you don’t pay the difference.
- Won’t be there? Choose I Won’t Be There That Day instead of a meal, so your organizer doesn’t order for you.
- There’s no confirmation email. We don’t have your email address. Your pick shows on the group order page.
- Don’t see Special Request? Some restaurants don’t take special requests, so the option doesn’t show.
- If you already have a CaterCow account and you’re logged in, the guest link works a little differently. If you belong to the organization, it opens the regular group order page. If you don’t, your pick saves under your account name, and you don’t join the organization.
- An account lets you do more. You can save your allergies and change your pick from any device. If you’ll join this organization’s group orders often, ask an Admin of the organization to invite you. Your organizer can tell you who that is. Once you join, its upcoming meals show on your meal calendar.
