How do I use a coupon or deal code at checkout?

How to redeem a coupon or deal code during checkout, and the eligibility rules that determine whether one will work on your order.

On this page

Enter your code in the pricing summary at checkout. We check it against your order right away, and if it applies, your discount shows before you place your order.

If a code has a minimum, only your food subtotal counts toward it.

Apply a coupon code

1. At checkout, find the pricing summary on the right. Next to Coupon, click Apply Coupon.

2. In the Add A Coupon Code popup, type your code into the Coupon code box, then click Apply Coupon. We check the code against your order right away.

3. Some coupons can be redeemed for CaterCoins instead of a discount. If yours can, the popup asks How would you like to use this coupon? Choose the discount or the CaterCoins, then click Save. Learn more about CaterCoins.

4. Your discount shows in the pricing summary, under Coupon Applied. A free-delivery code takes off the same amount as your Delivery fee.

5. To use a different code, click Remove, then apply the new one.

6. When everything looks right, click Place Order. Your order is placed with the discount included.

When a code applies

  • One code per order. Codes don’t stack. To switch codes, click Remove next to Coupon Applied, then apply the new one.
  • Minimums count your food subtotal only. Delivery, the service fee, tax, and tip don’t count toward a code’s minimum.
  • A restaurant’s code works only on its menus. A deal code from a restaurant won’t apply to an order from anyone else.
  • First-order codes. Some codes work only on your first CaterCow order. Others work only on your first order from that restaurant.
  • Dates. A code can expire. A code with an end date also works only on orders delivered on or before that date.
  • Usage limits. A code can have a set number of uses, overall or per person. Once they’re used up, the popup says the code has exceeded the number of uses available. If you cancel an order that used a code, that use is freed up for another order.
  • Other limits. A code can also be limited to one package, a holiday menu collection, one customer, or one order. A code that worked for a teammate might not work for you.

What if my code doesn’t apply?

The Add A Coupon Code popup tells you which rule your order doesn’t meet, like a minimum you haven’t reached or a restaurant the code doesn’t cover. If it says the code couldn’t be found, check it for typos and try again.

Some restaurants also list their deals on their page on CaterCow. Each deal shows its code with a Copy Code button, so you can paste it into the popup at checkout.
