Orders

Why did I get a link to claim an order?

A restaurant started a CaterCow order for you. The link lets you sign up or log in, take over the order, and finish checkout.

On this page

A restaurant you work with started a CaterCow order for you and sent you a link to finish it. Claiming the order moves it into your own CaterCow account, where you can review it, change it, and place it. Nothing is placed until you do.

The link usually comes in an email from CaterCow that asks you to complete your draft order. The restaurant can also copy the link and send it to you another way.

1. Open the link. The page names the restaurant that made your order.

2. If you’re new to CaterCow, fill in the sign-up form with your work email, your name, and a password. The organization name and phone number are optional. Then click Sign Up.

3. The order is now yours. It opens at checkout with the date, headcount, and menu the restaurant chose, saved to your organization. A new account comes with its own organization, shown under Organization.

4. Review the order, change anything you need, and finish checkout. The order isn’t placed until you click Place Order.

  • Each link works once. After you claim the order, it’s on your orders page, marked Draft until you place it.
  • Have an account? Log in instead. If your email already has a CaterCow account, the link opens a Log In form instead of the sign-up form. Log in, and the order is claimed and opens at checkout.
  • It goes to the account you’re using. If you’re already logged in, the page shows which account you’re using. Click Claim Order to add the order to that account, so check the email address before you click.

What if…

  • You open the link again after claiming the order. You’ll see “Order already claimed.” Your order is still on your orders page.
  • The link shows a different error. The restaurant may have deleted the order. Check with the restaurant that sent it.
  • You need to change the order after you place it. It works like any other order. See How do I modify or update my already-placed order?
