On this page
Your Admins and Managers invite teammates from the Team page of your caterer dashboard. For each person, they choose what that teammate can see and change, like accepting orders, editing your menu, or changing bank account details, and which emails and texts they get. The video above walks through inviting a teammate.
Each teammate gets one of four roles, which you set under Permission. For what each role covers, see What can each role on my team see and do?.
Invite a team member
1. Open Team from the Operations section of your dashboard’s sidebar. The page lists everyone who has access to your account, with each person’s access, permission, and notifications.
2. Click Invite Team Member.
3. Enter your teammate’s First Name, Email, and Job Title.
4. Choose their Permission. The list beside it shows what that permission can and can’t do, like accepting orders or changing your bank account. New invites start as Admin. For what each permission covers, see What can each role on my team see and do?.
5. If your account has more than one kitchen, use Access Privileges to choose which businesses and kitchens they can access. Leave Business set to All Businesses to give them every business, including any you add later. If your account has kitchen groups, you can also pick one under Kitchen Group. With a single kitchen and no kitchen groups, this section doesn’t appear.
6. Under Notifications, choose which emails and texts they’ll get. Pick a preset, like Day-to-Day Operator, and the boxes below fill in to match. To pick them one at a time, choose Customize Your Own. A teammate can only get notifications their permission has access to.
7. Click Send Invitation. Your teammate shows on your Team page marked Invite Sent, and we email them an invitation to join your account. If they can’t find it, click Resend next to their name.
Edit or remove a teammate
To change someone’s job title, permission, access, or notifications, click Edit under their name, make your changes, and click Update. Their first name can’t be changed after the invite, and their email is locked once they’ve joined.
To take away someone’s access, click Remove under their name, then click Remove again to confirm. They lose access to your account right away, and this can’t be undone.
When your team spans more than one role, kitchen group, or kitchen, filters above the list let you narrow it down. Click Reset Filters to see everyone again.
Who can change your team
- Only Admins and Managers can invite teammates or change their roles.
- You can only give a teammate a role at or below your own. A Manager can’t make someone an Admin.
- When you remove a teammate, they lose access to your account right away.
- If we’ve locked team changes on your account, the Invite Team Member button and the Edit and Remove links don’t appear on your Team page. Email us at support@catercow.com to make a change.
We’re glad to help with your team, but changes to permissions or bank account details need to come from someone on your team with decision-making authority on the account. That protects your business: if we made a change for you and got something like bank account details wrong, that mistake would be on us to untangle. If your account’s Admin asks us to add or remove someone, we’ll make that change for you.
