You can change your delivery minimums, lead time, and weekend cutoff yourself. Only our team can change your pickup minimums, so email us if you’d like them to be different.
Delivery minimums
Each of your delivery areas has its own Minimum Order Amount and an optional free delivery threshold. Change them on your Delivery Areas, Minimums, & Fees page, under Operations in the menu. See how to set fees and minimums for each delivery area.
A customer’s food subtotal has to meet the minimum before they can place the order. That’s true for package orders and à la carte orders alike. If CaterCow sends the courier for a zone, we set that zone’s fee and minimum, and you can’t edit them.
A package also has its own minimum headcount. An order for a package has to meet whichever minimum is higher.
Pickup minimums
Pickup orders have their own minimum for each kitchen, separate from your delivery minimums. You can’t change it from your dashboard. See how to offer pickup.
Item minimums
To require a minimum number of one dish, set the item’s Minimum Quantity in your menu editor. Customers can’t order fewer than that. See how to update your menu.
Lead time
Lead time is how much notice you need before an order’s delivery or pickup time. Each kitchen has its own lead time, in hours, and customers can’t book a time that falls inside it.
To change it, open the kitchen from your Kitchens page and click Business hours. Under Order timing, choose how much notice you need under Notice needed before delivery, then click Save changes. On some accounts, the setting is locked once a kitchen has started taking orders. In that case, click Contact our support team under it to ask for a change.
A few things change how much notice an order needs:
- Packages. A package can need more notice than your kitchen does. The longer of the two applies.
- Group orders. Your kitchen can have a separate, shorter notice time for group orders. Only our team can change it.
- Weekends. If you can’t take Monday orders placed over the weekend, choose a Weekend cutoff under Order timing. Orders for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday then have to come in by 3pm Friday or 3pm Saturday.
Lead time is separate from your business hours and days off, which control which days and times customers can book at all.
