Your menu on CaterCow should always match what your kitchen actually offers. Whenever something changes — a price, a description, or a new item — you can update it from your caterer dashboard. The video above walks through editing an item.
1. Open Your Menu under Operations in the sidebar. Under Need to update your current menu?, click the menu you want to change. The editor opens in a new tab.
2. The editor lists each category with its items. Click an item to change it, or use Add New Menu Item and Add New Category to add something new.
3. Update whatever has changed: the name, the Price ($0 = free), the Menu Item Description, dietary information, serving details, or the photo.
4. Click Save. If the menu is listed on the CaterCow marketplace, the item gets a yellow outline and the editor shows Pending CaterCow Review. Customers keep seeing the current version until our menus team approves your edit. On other menus, the change is live as soon as you save.
5. Each edit is saved for review as soon as you click Save. When you’re finished, click Submit Changes at the bottom of the editor. You can expect approved changes to be live within one business day.
When your menu changes go live
- On a menu listed on the CaterCow marketplace, your edits are marked Pending CaterCow Review. Customers keep seeing the current version until our menus team approves them.
- Your other menus update as soon as you click Save.
- Changes to a primary menu sync to the sub-menus nested below it. If the primary menu is listed on the CaterCow marketplace, the sub-menus pick up your edits once we approve them. See How do I share a menu across kitchen locations?
Updating packages
CaterCow’s team creates your packages. To ask for a new package or a change to one, email menus@catercow.com. See How do I create and publish a new package?
If Your Menu opens your Packages page instead of the menu editor, your account doesn’t take full menu orders. See What does full menu ordering (FMO) mean for my account?
What if…
Something on my live menu could cause a problem for a customer? For example, an item marked gluten-free or vegan that isn’t, or an item you no longer offer. Don’t wait for the usual review. Email menus@catercow.com right away and we’ll fix it as quickly as we can.
I want to add utensils to a package or change utensil pricing? That works a little differently — email us and our team will help you get that set up correctly.
Something in the editor is missing or not working? Email menus@catercow.com.
