On this page
Each kitchen you run on CaterCow has its own weekly business hours — the days and times customers can book a delivery or pickup for. This is separate from how far in advance an order has to be placed; business hours control which times are open at all, while lead time controls how much notice you need.
Setting your hours
1. Go to your Kitchens page, under Operations in the menu. Every location you run on CaterCow is listed there, and each one has its own business hours.
2. Find the kitchen you want to update and click Edit Kitchen on its row. This opens the kitchen’s settings, with a tab for each part of its setup. If you run more than one location, see managing multiple kitchens.
3. Click the Business Hours tab. Each day of the week has its own row:
- Is Open says whether you take orders that day.
- Opens is the earliest time a delivery can arrive.
- Closes is the latest time a delivery can arrive.
4. To open a day, set its Is Open switch to Yes. To close a day, set it to No. A closed day’s times show Closed and can’t be changed.
5. For each open day, choose a time under Opens and a time under Closes.
6. If several days share the same hours, set one day up first, then click Apply To All on that day’s row to copy its hours to every other day. Apply To All also opens any day that was closed, so switch off the days you don’t take orders before you save.
7. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. To save and go back to your Kitchens page in one step, click Save & Exit instead. Customers can book delivery times inside your new hours right away.
How business hours work
- Business hours are your regular weekly schedule. For holidays and other one-off closures, mark a day off instead; see how to mark days off for your kitchen. A customer can only book a time that’s inside your hours and not on a day off.
- Lead time is a separate setting. Your hours say when you’re open; your lead time says how much notice an order needs. A customer booking inside your hours can still be blocked if they order too late. See order minimums and lead time.
- At least one day has to stay open, and each day’s closing time has to be later than its opening time.
- Opening times run from 6:00am to 6:00pm, and closing times from 9:00am to 11:00pm, in 15-minute steps.
Orders that land right around the weekend
If Monday deliveries need to be ordered before the weekend rather than right up to Monday morning, let us know — we can set that up for your kitchen on our end so Monday orders come in with the notice you need.
