How do I re-confirm next-day and last-minute orders?

Why CaterCow asks you to double-check tomorrow’s orders the day before, and how the quick re-confirmation step works.

On this page

It’s easy to accept an order and not look at it again until the day of. So the day before an order is due, we ask you to re-confirm it from the Re-Confirm tab on your Orders page, to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Orders you accept at the last minute are re-confirmed as part of accepting them.

Re-confirm an order

1. From the Re-Confirm tab on your Orders page, you can see every order that’s waiting on you. Each one shows Needs Reconfirmation until you re-confirm it.

2. Make sure your kitchen team knows about the order, then click Go to Order to Reconfirm.

3. Look over the delivery date and time, the address, the headcount, and the items one more time.

4. When everything’s on track, click Re-confirm For Tomorrow at the top of the page. The order is re-confirmed, and there’s nothing else you need to do for it.

How re-confirming works

  • If an order is for today, or you accept it after 1:30pm the day before, accepting it also asks you to acknowledge the date and time. That counts as your re-confirmation, so the order won’t show up on your Re-Confirm tab. See How do I accept a new order?
  • In the afternoon the day before an order is due, we email and text your kitchen’s order contacts a reminder with a link to re-confirm. While the order is still waiting, we send another reminder about every hour through the evening.
  • Some orders ask for one more check before you can re-confirm:
    • Special instructions. Some customers or organizations require a bit more from this step. If you see a message and a re-confirmation phrase, read the message and type the phrase exactly as shown.
    • More than one order at a kitchen that day. Some restaurants are set up to type which order they’re re-confirming when a kitchen has more than one that day (for example, “2” for the second order). It’s a quick check that your team is ready for every order that day, not just the first.

What if I don’t see the Re-confirm For Tomorrow button?

Re-confirming depends on your role. If the button is grayed out, your role doesn’t include confirming orders; ask an admin on your team to re-confirm or update your role. Some kitchens are also set up so only that kitchen’s own team can re-confirm its orders. In that case the button doesn’t appear for anyone outside that kitchen.
